PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government is tightening enforcement of illegal parking in the Gelora Pakansari area through a joint operation by the Transportation Agency, Bogor Police, and Kodim 0621 to maintain order and public comfort during activities, especially on weekends and Car Free Day activities (12/04/2026).
The clean-up will be carried out in stages after the Car Free Day activities are over so as not to disturb people exercising or enjoying activities in the area.
Head of Traffic Division of the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency, Dadang Hengky, said that the level of illegal parking violations has decreased significantly.
He explained that the number of violations, which was previously quite high, is now around five percent and most of them are committed by new visitors.
"Those who regularly participate in activities in Pakansari, whether for sports or simply gathering, are now orderly and parking their vehicles in the designated areas. This means our outreach efforts have been very effective," said Dadang.
The Transportation Agency has also begun implementing gradual sanctions to improve public discipline.
The previous sanction of deflating vehicle tires will be increased to locking the vehicle and can then lead to a ticket with the police.
During this operation, officers took action against five vehicles found parked haphazardly, consisting of three motorbikes and two cars.
The local government assessed that the public response to the regulation was very positive and did not give rise to complaints.
"There have been no complaints; in fact, the public support has been extraordinary. This shows that public awareness is growing," he said.
To strengthen enforcement, no-parking signs were installed extensively at intervals of approximately 50 meters at a number of points to ensure they are easily visible to the public.
The Bogor Regency Government is also regulating illegal parking attendants by encouraging some of them to be recruited by official area managers.
In addition, vehicle access engineering is also being prepared to anticipate the surge in visitors, including plans to open barriers at several points so that vehicles can directly enter the Pakansari area.
The Bogor Regency Government hopes that the public will comply with the regulations by parking their vehicles in the designated locations so that the Pakansari area remains orderly, safe, and comfortable for all residents.
