PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Management of the National Association of Policy Analysts (INAKI) for the West Java Province Region for the 2026–2029 Period was officially inaugurated by the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, on Wednesday (30/9/2026).

The inauguration activity which took place in the Hall of the Bureau of Procurement of Goods and Services (PBJ) of the Regional Secretariat of West Java Province became an important momentum in strengthening the role and professionalism of the Policy Analyst Functional Position (JFAK) within the West Java Provincial Government.

Present at the event were the Head of the Regional Research and Development Agency (BP2D) of West Java Province, M. Taufiq Budi Santoso, as the Advisor to INAKI West Java, and the General Chair of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of INAKI, Imam Gunarto. Also present were the INAKI West Java management team, Policy Analysts, and representatives from universities that are part of the INAKI West Java network and Expert Council.
The inauguration of the INAKI West Java Management for the 2026–2029 period is expected to be a strategic step to strengthen competence, professionalism, quality of work results, professional networks, and knowledge exchange among Policy Analysts.

In his directive, the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, emphasized the importance of leadership and a proactive attitude for Policy Analysts at all levels. According to him, even in functional positions, Policy Analysts still need to have leadership capacity to optimally actualize their functions and roles. He also encouraged a transformation of work culture, from merely oriented towards carrying out tasks (human doing) to strengthening the value and meaningfulness of roles (human being), and from a task-based work pattern to a role-based one. Herman hopes that INAKI and its entire extended family can demonstrate increasingly tangible development and progress in performance. "I'm sure we can," he said.

As a professional organization for the Policy Analyst Functional Position, INAKI plays a role in supporting the capacity development and professionalism of its members. This strengthening is becoming increasingly important as local governments demand high-quality analysis as a foundation for policy formulation and decision-making.

The Chairperson of INAKI for the West Java Province, Dewi Sartika, expressed her hope that INAKI West Java would further encourage the use of policy analysis results as relevant and useful policy insights to support the decision-making process and improve the quality of Regional Government policies.

The utilization of policy insights is expected to strengthen the connection between the results of the Policy Analyst's work and development needs, so that the analysis products are not only administrative outputs, but can also provide valuable perspectives and input in the policy process.

This inauguration also marks a new step for JFAK in West Java to continue developing competencies, expanding collaborative networks, and building a culture of knowledge exchange that supports improving the quality of the Policy Analyst profession.

By strengthening professional organizations and collaboration between stakeholders, INAKI West Java is expected to increasingly contribute to providing quality, relevant, and meaningful policy analysis for governance and development in West Java.
