PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting (Pj.) Garut Regent Barnas Adjidin conducted a review of the prices of Important Basic Materials (Bapokting) at Samarang Market, Garut Regency, Thursday (4/4/2024).

During his visit, Barnas directly checked prices of basic commodities to ensure availability and price stability on the market.

The results of the review revealed that several Bapokting, especially rice, experienced a price reduction of up to IDR 3 thousand per kilogram. This decline brought price conditions back to normal levels, providing relief for the public.

Barnas emphasized its commitment to continue monitoring Bapokting price movements in the Garut Regency area. He added that the government will continue to carry out regular checks to maintain price stability and availability of basic commodities.

"God willing, if there is an increase, we will continue to check, we will carry out market operations for rice and various basic necessities. Hopefully Garut can stabilize, and we will continue to monitor it until Eid," said Barnas.

Apart from that, ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebration, Barnas admitted that there was an increase in prices for several Bapokting, especially meat. However, he emphasized that the price increase was still within acceptable limits and was not worrying.

In its efforts to maintain price stability, Barnas stated that it will continue to coordinate with the Logistics Agency (Bulog) to anticipate price spikes and ensure the availability of Bapokting, including through market operations which will be carried out if necessary.

"Hopefully it will continue to survive, don't continue to increase. If there is an increase, we have collaborated with Bulog," he said. (Diskominfo Garut/Revo)
