PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT Kereta Api Indonesia Operation Area (Daop) 2 Bandung provides drinking water stations at 2 stations, namely Bandung Station and Kiaracondong Station as of July 2023. This is KAI's support to reduce the use of plastic bottles as one of the steps to achieve net zero emissions (NZE).
Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Ayep Hanapi said that his party has collaborated with various parties such as Coway International Indonesia and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) to provide drinking water station services that have gone through various tests including water quality.
"Drinking water is certainly needed to maintain body health. KAI is committed not only to providing drinking water, but also quality drinking water that is healthy for train customers to consume," said Ayep.
"The quality of drinking water at the drinking water station facility has met 20 of the 20 standard quality parameters tested based on testing by the Coway Water Quality Laboratory. In addition, the drinking water facility has also received a halal certificate from the MUI," he added.
In more detail, Ayep explained that the water quality test parameters at drinking water stations include microbiological parameters consisting of (E. Coli and Total Coliform Bacteria), physical parameters (Temperature, Total Dissolved Solid, Turbidity, Color, and Odor), chemical parameters (Nitrate, Nitrite, Iron, Manganese, Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Fluoride, and Aluminum), and additional chemical parameters (Total Chromium, Copper, Zinc, and Nickel).
"KAI will continue to support campaigns or movements for conservation and environmentally friendly technology as an effort to improve services for train users. This is done as a step to present the best railway transportation ecosystem for the people of Indonesia," concluded Ayep. (Parno)
