PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The 128th Regular TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) Program in 2026 in Mekarmulya Village, Malangbong District, Garut Regency was officially closed after all physical and non-physical activities were 100 percent completed.

The closing ceremony of TMMD took place at Situ Ciranca, Mekarmulya Village, Thursday (21/5/2026), showcasing the synergy between the TNI, Polri, local government, and the community in developing the village.

The 128th TMMD carries the theme "TMMD Unite Steps, Building the Nation from the Village".

The physical activities carried out include opening and paving a 1.5 kilometer road, building three culverts, one drainage point, three toilets and washrooms, three clean water drilling points, and two uninhabitable houses (rutilahu).

Meanwhile, non-physical activities include providing supplementary food to address stunting, training national defense cadres, counseling on the dangers of drugs and radicalism, free health services, family planning services, and population administration services.

Malangbong Sub-district Head, Deden Munawar, expressed his appreciation to the ranks of the TNI, especially Kodim 0611/Garut who have worked and lived with the community during the implementation of TMMD.

"The TNI's presence through TMMD is not merely a ceremonial activity, but a tangible demonstration of their dedication to the welfare of the community," he said.

According to Deden, infrastructure development through TMMD provides significant benefits to the community, particularly in opening up transportation access, supporting economic growth, and improving environmental quality and public health.

He added that non-physical programs also have a positive impact through national education, health services, and strengthening public awareness of the dangers of drugs and radicalism.

"TMMD is not just about building village roads, but also opening up a path of hope for the community," he said.

Deden hopes that all development results can be maintained and utilized optimally for the welfare of the Mekarmulya Village community.

"As long as the TNI remains with the people and society in maintaining unity, the villages will become stronger, Garut will become greater, and Indonesia will become more dignified," he said.
