PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Head of the Bandung City Food Security and Agriculture Service (DKPP), Gin Gin Ginanjar, predicts that the number of sacrificial animals slaughtered during Eid al-Adha in Bandung City will increase.

There are 13,701 sacrificial animals to be slaughtered in 2024, consisting of 7,455 cows and 6,246 sheep or goats.

"This has increased by 16.8 percent compared to 2023, around 12,000," he said after carrying out Eid al-Adha prayers at the Al Ukhuwah Grand Mosque, Bandung City, Monday (17/6/2024)

This can also be seen from the increase in requests for sacrificial animal slaughter at 2 Bandung City Slaughterhouses (RPH).

Deductions at this slaughterhouse have increased. Last year there were 363 individuals. "This year it will be more than 400," he said.

He hopes that the Eid al-Adha committee can distribute sacrificial meat smoothly.

"So the committee will distribute it to mustahik (recipients) to be distributed according to data in each region. So there is no need for recipients to come, but the committee will distribute it," he said.

Gin Gin has appealed to the Eid al-Adha committee to use environmentally friendly packaging.

"We have also appealed to avoid using plastic bags, to use environmentally friendly containers or packaging," he said.
