PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is encouraging the role of teachers as mentors and inspirators for Generation Z amidst technological developments to shape students who are confident, adaptive, and ready to face future challenges 3/5/2026.
Changes in learning patterns in the digital era mean that students are no longer completely dependent on teachers as a source of information because access to knowledge is widely available via the internet.
Teachers act as facilitators who help students filter relevant and credible information so that the learning process becomes more effective.
An open and empathetic communication approach creates a comfortable learning atmosphere so that students are more active and can easily understand the material.
Students also need teachers as motivators who are able to build character, honesty, and discipline as provisions for life.
"One of the most memorable messages from my teacher is that we must always be honest and disciplined because that way we will be much better and useful to many people," said Biqi, a student at Pasundan University.
Another student, Bunga, said that the teacher's message encouraged her to continue developing without comparing herself to others.
"You don't have to be the best, but be better than you were yesterday," said Bunga.
This message has a direct impact on students in building self-confidence and reducing feelings of insecurity in the educational environment.
The role of teachers who are adaptive, communicative, and inspiring is key in creating a superior generation that is able to compete in the future.
The Bandung City Government views this transformation as an opportunity to improve the quality of education while addressing the needs of the younger generation in the digital era.
