PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is accelerating infrastructure improvements on 17 strategic roads to facilitate citizen mobility and increase the comfort of road users.

The repairs include Panjunan Road, Astana Anyar, Sukaraja, Jakarta, Gunung Batu, Tamansari, Sulanjana, Merdeka, Braga, Wastukencana, LLRE Martadinata, East Station, Independence Pioneer, Aceh-Manado, Small Lengkong, Big Lengkong, Sunda, and Juanda.

Head of the Bandung City Roads and Bridges Division, Sandi Suhendar, explained that the road repair work is divided into 10 project packages, all of which have entered the contract stage.

"All packages have been contracted. Some are completed, while others are still under construction," Sandi said (April 28, 2026).

Sandi said that one of the sections that was completed faster was Jalan Sunda, so it could be used again by the public earlier than scheduled.

Work on the Dago and Tamansari sections of Jalan is now entering the active construction phase to improve the quality of the road surface and increase road safety.

The Bandung City Government divided the project into several main packages, such as the Merdeka–Braga–Wastukencana Road package, the LLRE Martadinata Road package, the Sunda Road package, and the Juanda Road package.

All work is targeted for completion by early July 2026 to improve public transportation access and support economic activity in the city center.

Sandi explained that the speed of work was influenced by field conditions on each road section.

Some sections such as Astana Anyar and Panjunan require more complex handling due to road conditions and heavy traffic activity.

"If road conditions permit, it could certainly be completed more quickly. But in some locations, the challenges are greater," Sandi said.
