PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Government is strengthening efforts to prevent drug abuse to protect the younger generation through the commemoration of International Anti-Narcotics Day (HANI) 2026 at the Garut Regency Regional Secretariat Field (29/6/2026).
The joint roll call served as a momentum to encourage all elements of society to raise awareness of the ever-increasing threat of drug abuse.
Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin said that, based on the direction of the Head of the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, the prevalence of drug abuse in Indonesia in 2025 will reach 2.11 percent or around 4.15 million people.
"Referring to the 2025 World Pivot data, the survey results show that Indonesia's prevalence in 2025 is 2.11%, equivalent to 4.15 million people. This figure is an increase from the previous year's prevalence of 1.73%, with abuse trending predominantly among productive age groups aged 17-40," said Abdusy Syakur.
The Garut Regency Government invites the public, agencies, and law enforcement officials to strengthen prevention through education, rehabilitation, and strengthening family and community resilience.
"Efforts to prevent drug abuse and enforce the law against drug trafficking networks will contribute to developing a strong and high-quality generation as part of efforts to achieve the demographic bonus by 2045," he added.
On this occasion, the Garut Regency Government also handed over certificates of promotion to 66 civil servants as a form of appreciation for the dedication and devotion of the apparatus.
