PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government commemorated National Children's Day (HAN) at the city level in 2026 at the Harris Citylink Hotel on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. This event served as a momentum to strengthen the fulfillment of children's rights and protection while also providing a space for children to participate, be creative, and express their aspirations.

The Bandung City Children's Forum (Fokab) also participated in various activities to commemorate National Children's Day. Fokab presented child-friendly information booths and play areas, as well as a cabaret showcasing children's voices and aspirations through creative performances.

The Head of the District Forum, Ganis, said that his party's involvement in the activity was one way to convey children's voices to the community.

"Today we're helping the Father and Mother Service. We have a child-friendly information booth and a children's play booth. We're also showcasing a cabaret that aims to give voice to children, but in a different way to make it more accessible to the public," said Ganis.

In addition to the cabaret performance, the event also included the inauguration of the Fokab Management for the 2026–2028 term. This inauguration is part of an effort to encourage children's involvement in expressing their aspirations and participating in activities related to fulfilling children's rights.

One parent, Emma, appreciated the activity which gave the children the opportunity to dare to appear and show their talents.

"It's great to see children of all ages bravely performing and showcasing their talents. I hope the children of Bandung stay healthy, happy, continue to dream, and dare to show their talents," said Emma.

The National Children's Day commemoration also included awards for child-friendly sub-districts and villages, as well as awards for winners of a creative video content competition. Additionally, Braille copies of the Quran were presented to children with disabilities, along with Child Identity Cards (KIA) and birth certificates.

The excitement of the activity was also displayed through various children's performances, including the People's School choir, children's fashion show, angklung, song performance, and Jaipong dance.

Through the 2026 National Children's Day commemoration, the Bandung City Government continues to encourage the creation of safe, friendly, and supportive spaces for children to grow, develop, create, and express their aspirations.
