PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government commemorates the 2024 National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN) at the city level with the theme "Strengthening Solidarity Towards a Golden Indonesia".

HKSN, which has historical roots since 1948, is a moment to strengthen social solidarity amidst the dynamics of urban life.

Acting Mayor of Bandung, A. Koswara emphasized the importance of solidarity as a solution to various social challenges, including public welfare and mental health.

"Social solidarity is a very important lifestyle in urban areas. With solidarity, we can overcome various problems that impact community welfare, including mental health," said Koswara at the Bandung City Social Service Office, Jalan Babakan Karet (16/12/2024).

Head of Bandung City Social Service, Soni Bakhtiyar explained, various achievements achieved in the field of social welfare. One important achievement is the decline in poverty rates based on the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

"In 2023, there were 334,179 poor families. This year, the number has dropped by 14 percent to 287,000 families," he explained.

Soni also emphasized the importance of utilizing single data to synergize welfare programs so that they are right on target.

The 2024 HKSN event in Bandung City is filled with various activities, such as:

1. Cheap market in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry.
2. Distribution of basic food supplies to underprivileged communities.
3. Disaster mitigation simulation.
4. Sub-district Social Welfare Workers (TSKS) product bazaar.
5. Handing over of assistive devices for people with disabilities.
6. Free health services, blood donation, and disability consultation.
7. Art performance from the TSKS community.

In this event, awards were also given to sub-districts that excelled in social welfare programs:

1st Place: West Bandung (Rp. 15 million)
2nd Place: Mandalajati (Rp 12 million)
3rd Place: Bojongloa Kidul (Rp. 10 million)
Hope 1: Panyileukan (Rp 5 million)
Hope 2: Stone Fruit (Rp 3 million)

Soni Bakhtiyar said, the essence of social solidarity is cross-sector cooperation to provide social welfare in a sustainable manner.

"Social solidarity is the soul of heroism. This is not only the government's duty, but the responsibility of all elements of society," he said.

With the success of social welfare programs in Bandung City, HKSN 2024 is an important moment to strengthen solidarity and move towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
