PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) at the West Java Province level will be filled with various events, starting from a procession of duplicates of the Red and White Flag, ceremonies to a defile on Monday (17/8/2026).

As the opening ceremony, the Red and White parade will cover a 3.5-kilometer route, starting from Bale Pakuan (Ottoiskandar Street) to Kebon Jukut Street, then Perintis Kemerdekaan Street, then Wastukenca Street. Next, it will travel along LLRE Martadinata Street to Ir. H. Juanda Street, ending in the courtyard of Gedung Sate on Diponegoro Street.

The Head of the West Java Communications and Informatics Agency, Adi Komar, said the Red and White parade will begin at 7:00 a.m. and run until 7:45 a.m. WIB. "During the parade, all roads will be closed, except for Jalan Wastukencana next to Bandung City Hall, as the Indonesian Independence Day commemoration is also taking place there," Adi said on Sunday (August 16, 2026).

After the Red and White parade, the event continued with the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence Ceremony in the courtyard of Gedung Sate at 08.00 WIB.

Then, at 10:30 a.m. WIB, the parade began in the courtyard of Gedung Sate. The event was enlivened by members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and street sweepers.

In the afternoon, the lowering ceremony of the Red and White Flag was held at 3:30 PM. Then, the series of events for the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence on Monday (8/17/2026) closed with a procession to return the duplicate Red and White Flag at 5:00 PM. The procession route started from Diponegoro Street - Sulanjana Street - Sawunggaling Street - Tamansari Street - Wastukencana Street - Padjadjaran Street - Cicendo Street to Bale Pakuan on Kebonsirih Street.
