PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, led the Joint Roll Call which was combined with the Award Presentation for the 2026 Garut Regency-Level National Sports Day (HAORNAS) Commemoration at the Garut Regency Regional Secretariat (Setda) Field, Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, Monday (14/9/2026).

In his speech, the Regent of Garut emphasized the importance of creating a healthy and strong society as capital to produce superior and high-achieving human resources.

"A great person is not an ordinary person, but someone who excels above the rest. This can only be achieved if they are physically strong and in top condition," said Abdusy Syakur Amin.

The Regent emphasized that sports activities are a way to stimulate the brain and build physical endurance. Therefore, the Garut Regency Government supports the promotion of various sports within the community as part of healthy lifestyle education.

"Exercise more. We strongly encourage the holding of sports activities in various disciplines. This is solely to encourage our children and all of us to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors," he stressed.

The Regent of Garut also invited all levels of society to maintain physical fitness by exercising regularly and reducing the habit of being lazy in daily life.

In this activity, the Garut Regency Government presented awards to sports figures and outstanding sports people in Garut Regency, including:

1. Hj. Diah Kurniasari (Chair of KORMI, Garut Regency)
2. Tati Narwati (Chair of SOINA, Garut Regency)
3. Aufa Chaerun Nissa (1st Place Tarung Derajat at the Bambang Haryo National Student Championship, S Cup III Surabaya - East Java)
4. Second Lieutenant Taoziah Nur-maslikah (Second Place Winner of the 2026 National Indoor Hockey Championship)
5. Agus Miqdar (National referee for the karate sport at the 2026 KASAU Cup and national referee for the karate sport at the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Defense Cup)
6. Iip Saepulloh (Macth Commissioner of League 2 Pegadaian Championship)
7. Agung Suhada (Referee for the Pegadaian Championship League 2)
8. Kurnia Setiawan (Assistant Referee of League 2 Pegadaian Championship)
9. Tarisa Ramadhanti Nurpadila (Female referee, Garut Regency - Female referee for the Indonesian League 1, Professional Futsal League referee, and National Pertiwi Cup referee)
10. Jacinda Jauhari Putri Drama (3rd Place at the National Athletics Championship and the Indonesian U-18 Open Championship Jakarta 2026)
