Heroes' Day, which is celebrated every November 10, carries the theme "Heroic Spirit for the Nation's Future in Fighting Poverty and Ignorance".

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bekasi Regency, Dedy Supriyadi, said that heroes are very meritorious figures who are willing to sacrifice for the nation, state and religion, who are willing to die in winning Indonesia's independence.

Dedy explained that Heroes' Day is commemorated every year as a historical event for the Indonesian nation, in defending it through the national revolutionary movement during the battle in Surabaya on November 10, 1945.

"How difficult it is for us to fight against thousands of fully armed colonial troops, while the Indonesian people do not have adequate fighting equipment, but our nation has the determination to never give up, not afraid to die in order to defend every inch of the motherland, and a brave fighting spirit against the colonial forces," he said.

He conveyed to the people of Bekasi Regency to take part in being part of the steps to sacrifice the spirit of heroes and build the economy and create a better and more prosperous society.
