PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Amidst increasingly complex global dynamics, the Bekasi Regency Government is reaffirming the spirit of nationalism through the commemoration of Pancasila Day in 2026.
Carrying the theme Pancasila Unites the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace, this commemoration is a momentum to reflect on the role of Pancasila as the foundation of national unity as well as Indonesia's contribution to realizing world peace and justice at the global level.
More than just an annual ceremony, the Pancasila Day commemoration, which is celebrated every June 1st, is an invitation for all people to bring the values of Pancasila to life in every aspect of life, in order to strengthen unity, maintain harmony, and support the realization of a progressive and just Indonesia.
Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, said that the commemoration of Pancasila Day is an important momentum to ensure that the noble values of Pancasila remain alive and become a guideline in the life of the nation and state.
"Today is not just an annual ceremony, but a moment of reflection to ensure that the flame of Pancasila continues to burn in the souls of every Indonesian. Pancasila has proven to be a unifying force for the nation amidst diversity and a guiding light in facing the various challenges of the times," he said while acting as Inspector of the 2026 Pancasila Anniversary Ceremony at the Bekasi Regency Government Plaza, Central Cikarang, on Monday (June 1, 2026).
According to him, the noble values of Pancasila are not only relevant for maintaining the integrity of the Indonesian nation but also serve as a foundation for achieving world peace. Amid global uncertainty, Pancasila serves as a moral anchor in navigating global turbulence, from technological disruption to geopolitical dynamics.
"Pancasila is the foundation of our independent and active foreign policy. The values of deliberation and consensus that we embrace are diplomatic instruments that the world desperately needs today to bridge differences and end conflict," he explained.
The Acting Regent of Bekasi added that Indonesia has a constitutional responsibility to participate in maintaining world order based on independence, eternal peace, and social justice as mandated by the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
"As a great nation, Indonesia continues to demonstrate real leadership through its contribution to peacekeeping forces under the United Nations (UN) flag, its role in mediating regional conflicts, and its consistent advocacy of justice for colonized nations as a manifestation of the practice of the second principle, namely Just and Civilized Humanity," he added.
Therefore, the Acting Regent of Bekasi invited all elements of society, especially the younger generation as guardians of the nation's future, to make Pancasila a living ideology and to realize it in real action.
"Don't let our noble values become mere decorations on office walls or texts in history books. We must also continue to fight all forms of intolerance and radicalism that could undermine our national harmony," he said.
In closing, the Acting Regent urged all elements of society to reaffirm their commitment to nationalism and to uphold to the world that Indonesia is a great nation that upholds religious values, a spirit of unity, and humanitarian values. (Bekasi Regency Communications and Information Service/rka)
