PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government and the Pekanbaru City Government signed a joint agreement to strengthen public services, investment, and increase Regional Original Income (PAD), (8/7/2026).
The agreement was signed by the Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan and the Mayor of Pekanbaru Agung Nugroho at Bandung City Hall.
Farhan said that inter-regional cooperation provides an opportunity to exchange experiences to provide faster and higher-quality services to the public.
Bandung will study regional fiscal management and Building Approval (PBG) services in Pekanbaru, which can be completed in a matter of hours.
"This is what we want to learn to accelerate investment in Bandung City," said Farhan.
In return, Bandung shares its experience in organizing utility networks through a fiber optic cable rollout program to support a more organized urban infrastructure.
Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho said that Bandung City is one of the reference areas in developing governance innovation.
"We came to learn. There are many things we want to collaborate on, from governance, increasing Regional Original Income (PAD), the culinary sector, hotels, and tourism," Agung said.
Agung explained that Pekanbaru succeeded in increasing its regional revenue (PAD) from around IDR 800 billion to IDR 1.3 trillion through taxation and public service innovations.
The two regional governments also opened up opportunities for cooperation in promoting micro, small, and medium enterprises, investment, tourism, and the creative economy to encourage regional economic growth.
The agreement covers public services, digital government, investment, increasing local revenue (PAD), fiber optic network management, licensing, and regional innovation.
