PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - The Ciamis Regency Government affirmed its support for the Islamic Community and Women's Islamic Community Association programs to strengthen community development, education, and community economic empowerment during the inauguration of the DPD board at the PKK Hall of Ciamis Regency (2/7/2026).

The inauguration carried the theme of Strengthening Islah Wasathiyah in Realizing a Dynamic Ciamis and was attended by the ranks of the West Java Islamic Community Association, community leaders, and new administrators.

Ciamis Regent Herdiat Sunarya said the inauguration was a momentum to strengthen the organization's commitment to presenting programs that provide real benefits to the community.

"On behalf of myself and the Ciamis Regency Government, I congratulate all the newly inaugurated members of the Ciamis Regency PUI DPD. This is a noble mandate that, God willing, will bring benefits to the community and the region," said Herdiat.

Herdiat assessed that the Islamic Community Association has contributed to fostering morals, developing education, empowering communities, and instilling Islamic values that bring benefits to life.

He encouraged the new management to strengthen the development of the younger generation, maintain the unity of the community, and present sustainable economic empowerment programs.

"The Ciamis Regency Government is ready to collaborate and become a strategic partner with the PUI in any program aimed at improving the community's quality of life. I am confident that with a spirit of togetherness and hard work, the PUI of Ciamis Regency will be able to make a real contribution to the progress of this beloved region," he added.

The Chairman of the Ciamis Regency Islamic Community Association DPD, Nanang Permana, stated that the new management will strengthen the organization's governance to support preaching, education, and economic empowerment of the community.

The General Chairperson of the West Java Islamic Community Association (UPI), Saefullah Ma'ruf, hopes that the new leadership will bring a new spirit in continuing the struggle of the organization that has been established for more than a century.

The inauguration also appointed Gitta Griselda Yana, Chairperson of the Ciamis Regency Women's Association of Islamic Ummah, along with the management team to strengthen the role of women in preaching, education, and community empowerment.
