PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo) strengthened digital security awareness within the government through a Security Awareness Socialization entitled "Always Be Alert to Cyber Threats! In an Effort to Protect Citizens' Personal Data," at the Atlantic City Hotel, Tuesday (1/9/2026).

The Head of the Bandung City Communications and Information Service, Henryco Arie Sapiie, said that digital transformation provides convenience in government services, but also presents risks to system and data security.

"Cybersecurity cannot be achieved by one organization or one individual alone. It requires coordination, consolidation, and collaboration by all stakeholders," he said.

According to him, everyone has an important role in maintaining information security, including by protecting accounts, passwords, and treating data as an asset that must be protected.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cryptography and Communication and Informatics Applications Division of Bandung City, Yusuf Cahyadi, said that this outreach is part of an effort to increase the preparedness of regional government agencies in facing cyber threats while strengthening the protection of personal data in the implementation of digital government services.

During the event, Asep Denny Surbakti, Head of the Cryptography and Information Security Division of the West Java Provincial Communications and Information Office, shared the JabarProv-CSIRT's practices in dealing with cyber incidents. The material covered incident reporting and handling, cross-stakeholder coordination, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and human resource capacity building.

Rindy, S.Kom., MTI., JNCIS, CEH, ECSA, LA/A ISO 27001, DPO from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology, also presented material on personal data protection. He emphasized the importance of credential security, implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA), VPNs, and software updates to minimize security risks.

Through this outreach, the Bandung City Communications and Information Service encourages all regional government agencies to be more vigilant against cyber threats and play an active role in maintaining the security of information and personal data.

Strengthening digital security is expected to go hand in hand with the government's digital transformation, so that public services remain safe, reliable, and able to maintain public trust.
