PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government won the Best Basic Citizen Service Award in the Health Sector at the 2026 Warta Kota Awards event at Studio Satu Kompas TV, Kompas Tower, Jakarta (6/7/2026).

The award was received by Acting Regent of Bekasi Asep Surya Atmaja as an appreciation for the local government's commitment to expanding access to health services for the community.

Asep said the award was proof that basic health services continue to reach the community through various health protection programs.

"Thank God, today we received the 2026 Warta Kota Awards. This is tangible evidence of the Bekasi Regency Government's contribution to basic health services."

Bekasi Regency's Universal Health Coverage has reached 99.6 percent, ensuring that almost all residents have guaranteed access to health services.

The Bekasi Regency Government also provides a Regional Health Insurance program for people who are not yet registered as participants of the Health Social Security Administration.

"Bekasi Regency's UHC coverage currently reaches 99.6 percent. For those who don't have BPJS Kesehatan, we also provide Regional Health Insurance (Jamkesda).

Asep explained that almost all residents of Bekasi Regency now have access to health care through various available protection schemes.

According to Asep, the ever-increasing population growth poses a challenge to maintaining high Universal Health Coverage targets each year.

"We will continue to optimize Jamkesda so that people with Bekasi Regency ID cards can access health services easily and securely."
