PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government opened 175 job training packages for 3,500 residents with Bandung City ID cards to improve skills and reduce unemployment rates, (8/7/2026).

The training took place for 10 days at various Job Training Institutions spread throughout the electoral district of Bandung City.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan opened the program at LPK Ariyanti with training participants and organizing partners.

Farhan said that improving the quality of human resources is the main foundation for society to be competitive in facing changes in the world of work.

"The best investment is to develop productive, creative, and competitive people. These are the characteristics of Bandung's people that we must continue to encourage," he said.

According to Farhan, the demographic bonus will only provide benefits if it is accompanied by increased competence and expanded employment opportunities for the community.

He invited participants to make maximum use of the training so that they could work or open their own businesses.

"The Bandung City Government wants its people to be not only ready to work, but also able to open their own business opportunities so they can create new jobs," said Farhan.

The Head of the Bandung City Manpower Office, Yayan Ahmad Brilyana, said the training covers eight areas, namely catering, pastry, pastry level 2, basic barista, digital marketing, bridal makeup, teenage makeup, and barber.

Yayan explained that all fields were selected based on job market needs and business opportunities that could absorb labor more quickly.

The Bandung City Manpower Office is also preparing to develop electric vehicle technician training through a collaborative plan with the Bandung Institute of Technology to address future industrial needs.

Participants receive food and drink facilities, seminar kits, training tools, transportation allowance of IDR 50,000 per day, and a certificate from the Bandung City Manpower Office.
