PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government served 50,702 prospective students through the Bebunge application in the implementation of the New Student Admission System for State Junior High Schools for the 2026/2027 Academic Year digitally (2/7/2026).

The Bebunge application is a public service that allows people to complete all stages of registration via smartphone, from account creation to the announcement of selection results.

The Head of the Bekasi Regency Communication, Informatics, Cryptography and Statistics Agency, Yan Yan Akhmad Kurnia, said that this innovation makes it easier for the public to obtain fast, transparent, and efficient education services.

"We want to ensure that the people of Bekasi Regency receive easily accessible educational services without having to visit schools repeatedly. Bebunge is proof that the local government is capable of delivering digital innovations that truly meet the community's needs. Today, we're not just talking about applications, but about changing the culture of public service to be more modern, efficient, and transparent," he said.

Yan Yan said the successful implementation of the New Student Admissions System for three years demonstrates the strengthening of the digital services ecosystem in the education sector.

The Bekasi Regency Government will also develop Bebunge so that more public services can be accessed by the public through one integrated application.

Head of the Information and Communication Technology Division of the Bekasi Regency Communications and Information Technology Office, Bahrul Ulum, explained that the domicile route was the most popular choice with 29,476 applicants, followed by the affirmative route with 9,698 applicants, academic achievement with 8,725 applicants, non-academic achievement with 1,822 applicants, and transfer with 981 applicants.

During the implementation of the New Student Admissions System, the system verified 20,132 files, determined that 10,948 participants were accepted, 9,813 participants were not accepted, and rejected 8,362 applicants who did not meet the administrative requirements.

Bahrul believes Bebunge's ability to manage tens of thousands of transactions in real time demonstrates that regional digital innovation is capable of providing modern services that make things easier for the public.
