PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) will transform the library at Gasibu Field into a digital library. This will ensure the public can continue to access literacy services while the Gedung Sate and Gasibu Field courtyards are being renovated.

West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman confirmed that the West Java Provincial Government remains committed to providing literacy services to the public. In addition to the digital library, the West Java Provincial Government will also provide a mobile library around Gasibu Field.

"God willing, Gasibu Field will be integrated with the Gedung Sate courtyard and the public will still receive literacy services," said Herman, Monday (13/7/2026).

In addition, the library can also be accessed by the public through the nearest public library, one of which is the Bandung City Public Library which is located on Jalan Seram Number 2 Bandung, not far from the Gedung Sate area and Gasibu Field.

As a public open space, Gasibu Field is used daily by the public for sports, walking, recreation, and various other outdoor activities. These activities require a spacious, safe, and highly mobile space. Therefore, Gasibu Field was thoroughly renovated.

The West Java Provincial Government is committed to ensuring that quality public spaces go hand in hand with strengthening the literacy ecosystem so that both can provide greater benefits to the community.

"The spirit of literacy will remain an important part of human resource development in West Java," said Herman.
