PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government's commitment to encouraging Indonesia-Centric Development, especially realizing quality growth in the regional entrepreneurship sector, was again proven through the Bandung Great Sale (BGS) 2024.

The implementation of BGS 2024 as part of the series of the 214th Anniversary of the City of Bandung (HJKB) which will last for 3 days, precisely from 13 to 15 September 2024, will not only foster regional entrepreneurship from the MSME sector, but also the tourism sector of the City of Bandung.

This can be seen from the economic turnover records during the 2024 BGS event which reached IDR 78,940,653,000, as well as the level of tourist visits to the city of Bandung during the 2024 BGS event.

Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono revealed, as a regional sector that has contributed regional income from the service and tourism sectors, creativity is the keyword to continue supporting Indonesia-Centric development.

He further said that one of the innovations was presented through the Bandung Great Sale. This is also in line with
with the spirit of the 214th Anniversary of the City of Bandung (HJKB) which in 2024 focuses on the welfare (happiness) of the community.

"The Bandung Great Sale is one of our gifts to the people of Bandung City and all Indonesian people," he said, Monday, September 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Bandung City Trade and Industry Agency, Ronny A. Nurudin said, in addition to being a series of the 214th Bandung City Anniversary (HJKB), various activities held include the Bandung Great Sale.

Ronny said that it boils down to a commitment to how the HJKB spirit is able to present the spirit of Indonesia-Centric Development in various sectors, be it interconnectivity, sustainability, equality, social cohesion and quality growth.

According to him, specifically for the 2024 BGS activity, the Bandung City Government is certainly determined to present the spirit of Indonesia-centric development of quality growth in the regional entrepreneurship sector. The results, continued Ronny, are very encouraging because they not only grow MSME transactions but also the tourism sector.

"The estimated economic turnover reaches IDR 78.9 billion. Overall, thank God, the transaction movement during the 3 days of the 2024 Bandung Great Sale was calculated plus and minus from 3 sector lines, namely MSMEs, tourism, shopping centers, and so on," he said.

Ronny revealed that tourist visits to Bandung City during the implementation of BGS 2024 through 10 toll gates were around 620 thousand vehicles. While people who came using the Whoosh fast train were around 85 thousand people.

"Regarding the transactions that occurred, especially at the Citylink Festival, which is the venue for the 2024 BGS exhibition from Blibli, PT KAI, bjb and Kimia Farma, it is around IDR 1.5 billion," he said.

He continued, he said, BGS 2024 has a discount program of 80% and up to 80% in various sectors. Among them are 19 shopping centers, 3 supermarkets, 62 hotels, 6 transportation facilities and infrastructure, 13 restaurants and cafes, 4 factory outlets, 23 health facilities, 9 educational facilities and 122 UKM and IKM of Bandung City.

In the same place, Assistant for Economy and Development of Bandung City, Eric M. Attauriq hopes that BGS will become one of the reliable tourism agendas that can increase visits by domestic and foreign tourists.

"I hope the number of tourists or visiting guests, turnover, and transaction value next year can be greater," he said.

According to him, with the spirit of collaboration and togetherness, BGS 2024 has become an event that not only enlivens the city's anniversary, but also improves the economic welfare of the community and attracts tourists from various regions.
