PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Extraordinary euphoria hit the city of Bandung after Persib Bandung officially became champions of League 1 2023-2024.

This brilliant victory was achieved after beating Madura United with an aggregate of 6-1 in the second leg of the League 1 Championship Series at the Gelora Bangkalan Stadium, East Java (31/5/2024).

The match was fierce with Persib showing extraordinary performance. The winning goals were scored by David Da Silva in the 60th minute, Marc Klok in the 86th minute, and Beckham Putra in the 90+2 minute.

Madura United was only able to get one goal back through Slamet Nurcahoyono in the 90+6th minute. This final result adds to Persib's victory in the first leg, which previously managed to win 3-0 at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, thanks to goals from Ciro Alves and two goals from David Da Silva.

This victory was warmly welcomed by thousands of botohs who filled the streets of Bandung City. They took to the streets to celebrate the victory with vehicle convoys, chants and fireworks. An atmosphere full of joy can be felt in every corner of the city.

Acting The Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tortoyuliono, expressed his pride.

"This victory is proof of the hard work and fighting spirit of all the players and team. Thank you to Bobotoh who always faithfully supports Persib. We are all proud to be part of this history," he said.

The streets around Alun-alun Bandung, Dago, Gedung Sate, Pasupati Flyover and other places were filled with convoys of vehicles and convoys of botohs carrying Persib flags and attributes.

Police and security officers were deployed to ensure the celebration was safe and orderly.

Fadil, one of the Bobotoh who took part in the celebration, expressed his happiness.

"This is a very happy moment. We have been waiting for a moment like this for a long time. It feels extraordinary to be able to celebrate this victory with thousands of other Bobotoh. Hopefully Persib will continue to be successful and we can celebrate more wins in the future," he said enthusiastically.
