PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Responding to public unrest and growing speculation in the community regarding changes and decreases in the scores of prospective new students on the Non-Academic Achievement Path in the SPMB Maung web system, the West Java Provincial Education Office has provided clarification in order to maintain transparency and accountability.

The West Java Provincial Education Office confirmed that there were no unilateral score cuts or reductions. The changes to the SPMB Maung website are part of the process of synchronizing and updating real data to ensure all assessments are strictly based on applicable legal regulations.

The legal regulations are based on the Decree of the Governor of West Java Number: 27274/HK.02.03/SEKRE concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of the New Student Admission System for the Superior Human School in Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, issued on May 13, 2026.

Please understand that the grades listed on the website are currently "temporary." The system will automatically re-verify the initial registration input against the physical certificate, specifically to determine whether the achievement weight classifications are consistent with the Governor's Decree.

As a form of transparency, we, the West Java Provincial Education Office, are conveying several analysis results and findings regarding data adjustment cases currently occurring in the field.

The first case occurred in the Taekwondo achievement category. A prospective new student with the achievement of National Hopeful Team Champion outside the Ministry, initially received an input score of 310, which is the weighting for the national hopeful team champion within the ministry with a weighting calculation of 60% to 186, resulting in a temporary displayed score of 373.6. Currently, the system has updated the data to the score that should be according to the rules of the Governor's Decree, which is 275 for the National Champion 1 Single category outside the Ministry with a weighting calculation of 60% to 165. Thus, the final displayed score changed to 302.6. This change is purely an adjustment to the actual score rights, not a reduction in value.

The second case was found in the Garuda Scout achievement category. The initial score read by the system was 310, which refers to the national hopeful team champion score with a 60% weighting calculation of 186. After verifying supporting documents, the committee made adjustments to align the score with the provisions of the Governor's Decree, where the Garuda Scout achievement should have received a score of 275 as National Champion 1 in the single category with a 60% weighting calculation of 165.

The third case is the Student Council Chairperson category. Initially, the system read the applicant's score of 305 with a weighting of 60%, resulting in a score of 183, resulting in a temporary total score of 377.6. After verification, the score was adjusted to 220 based on the Governor's Decree for the Provincial Champion category outside the Ministry with a weighting of 60%, resulting in a score of 132, bringing the total final score to 326.24.

The changes in rankings on the temporary scoreboard are the result of the reversion of applicants' scores to the legitimate and valid figures as per regulations. The West Java Provincial Education Office is obligated to make this correction to uphold fairness for all other applicants. This ensures that no prospective student is disadvantaged by system errors or input errors during initial registration.

The West Java Provincial Education Office apologizes for any inconvenience caused during the system synchronization process.

The West Java Provincial Education Office urges all prospective new students and their parents or guardians to remain calm and regularly monitor official data updates through official information channels. Determining graduation is the responsibility of the school, as determined by the principal through a teacher council meeting, in accordance with the SPMB Manusia Unggul (Excellent Human Selection) guidelines.

The West Java Provincial Education Office is committed to conducting a clean, honest, transparent selection process and complying with the legal umbrella of the Governor's Decree.
