PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - In an effort to modernize and increase market operational efficiency, Perumda Pasar Juara launched a digital transformation program for 37 markets in Bandung City. This program was first officially launched at the Simple Market, Monday (3/6/2024).
President Director of Perumda Pasar Juara Pradana Aditya Wicaksana said that this transformation includes digitizing the trader levy payment system, handling complaints and various aspects of market operations.
"Thank God, the response from the public and traders was very positive," said Aditya at the Bandung City Market Perumda Office, Friday (7/6/2024)
"This system allows us to find out the status of merchant levy payments in real-time," he said.
Aditya said that Perumda Pasar Juara had actively socialized this new system to Bandung residents, who welcomed it well.
Support from the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) can also be seen with the award as an Electronic Based Government System (SPBE) city which was recently achieved.
"This transformation project is divided by region: north, south, west and east, with the first soft launch at Pasar Simple in the northern region," he said.
Aditya explained that the target for completion of the entire digital transformation project is September 1 2024.
Perumda Pasar Juara Operational and Commercial Director Eliandi Sumar Dasuki said that this system also helps control inflation by providing data on prices of community needs and the absorption capacity of basic necessities.
"We are working with Disdagin and Bulog to stabilize basic food prices, providing price certainty for the public. This is very important, especially before big holidays such as Eid, prices often fluctuate," he said.
Eliandi explained that digitalization also aims to increase income by reducing leaks which initially reached 78 percent to only 22 percent.
In addition, this initiative helps reduce the potential for extortion, thanks to collaboration with West Java Cyber Extortion.
"The potential for income through BUMD is very large, and we are optimistic that this digitalization can maximize this potential," he said.
The response from traders and the public continues to be positive, although there are slight differences in habits.
"At first we were doubtful, but it turns out they are very enthusiastic about this new system. With 37 markets and around 27,000 trading rooms, this system will ensure everything is recorded well," he said.
Perumda Pasar Juara aspires to make Bandung a model study city in the market governance system.
As the main distribution city in West Java, Bandung requires information and fast responses for rapid market development.
"We want the market in Bandung to become a tourist destination for visitors from outside the city," he said.
This digital transformation is expected to not only increase efficiency and income, but also strengthen Bandung's position as an innovative and modern distribution city and market tourism destination.
