PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi delivered a message to sub-district heads and village heads throughout West Java, regarding infrastructure development in their respective regions.

This was conveyed by the Governor who is familiarly called KDM (Kang Dedi Mulyadi) following the many hydrometeorological disasters (floods and landslides) that occurred in the current extreme rainy season. There are five important points conveyed by Dedi via his social media account, Sunday (16/3/2025).

"Firstly, to all village heads, sub-district heads and district heads throughout West Java, starting today, let us be more selective in providing recommendations for various permits that have the potential to cause environmental problems and are contrary to the principles of sustainable natural management," he said.

Second, village heads, sub-district heads and district heads must start to be sensitive in carrying out arrangements and have the courage to dismantle buildings that use river basins (DAS) which clearly disrupt the function of the river flow itself.

"The third is cleaning the environment, one of which is cleaning the river from garbage. Then managing garbage in every RT, RW, village and sub-district so that there is no continuous dumping of garbage into the river," he said.

The next message is to manage rivers together, especially small rivers that are not managed by BBWS (Large River Basin Center), Water Resources Service or PJT (Perum Jasa Tirta), by carrying out dredging and widening through mutual cooperation.

"The next thing is to reconstruct the small bridge, changing its shape to be curved, not flat as it is now, so as not to block the material carried by the current," he said.

Dedi hopes that these five steps will be effective steps to solve the flood problem.
