PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in Bandung City went smoothly and conducively. For this achievement, the Assistant for Government and Public Welfare of the Bandung City Regional Government Asep Gufron expressed his appreciation to the people of Bandung City who were considered mature in responding to the democratic process.

"We are grateful, on behalf of the Bandung City Government, that the stages of the Pilkada implementation, from the beginning to yesterday's voting, have gone according to expectations. There were no worrying things, and we consider this to be a reflection of the extraordinary mindset of the people of Bandung City," said Asep Gufron, Monday (2/12/2024).

According to him, the mindset of the people of Bandung City shows maturity in accepting differences of opinion and choice, so that differences do not become a source of conflict.

He also emphasized the importance of viewing the regional elections as democratic education, especially for the younger generation.

"Differences in choice actually become a strengthening to understand and support each other. Pilkada is an event to elect regional heads, not a moment to be divided, but to further strengthen togetherness," said Asep.

"If democracy is inherited with division, it is not a good legacy. However, if differences are seen as a gift, this will be a step forward," he added.

Asep invited the public to maintain solidarity and support whoever is elected as regional head.

"After the regional election results are announced, I hope that the community will not be divided, but instead strengthen togetherness to support whoever is elected regional head," he said.

For information, the Bandung City KPU has held a Coordination Meeting to Prepare for the Plenary Meeting for Counting Votes for the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of West Java and Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bandung in 2024 at Savoy Homann, Monday (2/12/2024).
