PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin led a joint roll call within the Garut Regency Government which was held at the Regional Secretariat (Setda) Field, Jalan Pembangunan, Monday (9/2/2026).

In his directive, the Regent highlighted the dynamics of deleting participant data for Health Insurance Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI), and reminded the importance of ASN work ethic during the month of Ramadan.

Syakur expressed concern over the central government's removal of approximately 70,000 Garut residents from the PBI list at the end of January 2026. He assessed that this policy has the potential to create significant dynamics in the field, especially for people who depend on free health services.

"This is not a small number. I imagine there will be a lot of dynamics on the ground. I ask the Health Office and community health centers (Puskesmas) to continue serving the public, as this is a basic service," Syakur emphasized.

As a precautionary measure, the Garut Regency Government has coordinated with the Ministry of Social Affairs to obtain detailed data on affected residents. He explained that despite the reduction, the regional government will continue to seek re-applications so that eligible residents can be re-enrolled in the assistance scheme.

"Despite our sadness, we were reduced by 70,000, but cumulatively, when we were reduced, we applied for a lot. We'll still apply. If we're trying, just try," he said.

As Ramadan approaches, the Garut Regent also reminded all State Civil Servants (ASN) not to use fasting as an excuse to reduce the quality of public services. He stated that serving the public is part of worship.

"The fasting month doesn't mean you should be lazy, unserious, undisciplined, or unfaithful. In fact, it's a good opportunity," he said.

In closing his remarks, Syakur expressed his appreciation for the improved performance of regional government agencies through various programs, including the optimization of service systems such as "Srikandi." He urged all staff to maintain the spirit of improvement and not become complacent, given the significant challenges facing Garut Regency's development going forward.
