PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Acting (Pj) Regent of Bekasi Dedy Supriyadi inaugurated the Wibawa Mukti Squash sports facility in Bekasi Regency, Bekasi Regency Government Complex (Pemdakab) on Friday (10/1/2025). This Squash venue has international standard sports facilities and infrastructure.
Some of the materials used for the Squash courts are imported directly from Germany, similar to those used in the Gelora Bung Karno squash hall in Jakarta and the Siliwangi Squash Center in Bandung.
"This shows the high standards applied, so that Bekasi Regency has sports facilities that are on par with leading sports centers in Indonesia," said Dedy Supriyadi after inaugurating the Wibawa Mukti Squash Sports Hall in Bekasi Regency.
Head of the Culture, Youth and Sports Service (Dsibudpora) of Bekasi Regency, Iman Nugraha, said that the construction of the Wibawa Mukti Squash Building will begin in 2023. Meanwhile, the Detail Engineering Design (DED) planning process will be carried out in 2022.
"The total budget for planning and construction of the Squash Building reached IDR 43 billion, there are two buildings being built, the first is a building for the field which, thank God, has been completed in the second phase in 2024," said Iman Nugraha.
He added, in 2025, a second building will be built which will be used as a secretariat, dormitory, fitness room. In fact, it is planned that there will be a multipurpose room that can be used for gymnastics or fitness sports.
"In the second building, there will be many facilities that will be built, such as dormitories for athletes, coaches and there will also be a lift for the disabled so that later, both disabled spectators and disabled athletes who want to play can access the second building," explained Imam Nugraha.
"The second building will be the main entrance, but in principle, we can already use the first Squash Building," he added.
This squash court can also be used by the public and ASN employees.
"Hopefully the goal is as an alternative healthy sport, both in the scope of the local government and for the general public," he hoped. (Diskominfo Kab. Bekasi/Revo)
