PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - Acting (Acting) Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan attended a thousand tree planting event on the banks of the Cipamingkis river in the GIIC Deltamas area of central Cikarang.

This activity is part of a series of commemorations of World Environment Day on Wednesday (5/6/2024).

Dani Ramdan emphasized that planting 1000 trees was a commitment from the tenants in the GIIC Deltamas area who donated trees.

"We are building an urban forest in the GIIC Deltamas industrial area and we are doing the same thing in other industrial areas," he said.

Dani also said that global warming or climate change was becoming increasingly felt and was shifting to a climate crisis. There is a lot of extreme weather, such as increasingly hot weather, heavy rain, frequent tornadoes.

"So I urge all the people of Bekasi Regency to actively participate in efforts to mitigate climate change or the climate crisis, such as planting trees to preserve our nature," he said.

Planting this tree, said Dani, is for the future of future generations and grandchildren.

"No matter how small, mitigation steps must be taken, including planting trees on every inch of existing land and every tree we plant today will be valuable, not only will it become green, it will become beautiful, the price of the area will increase," he said.

"The most important thing is the ecological impact, because our trees will be able to absorb CO2, carbon, return fresh oxygen for all of us, and also help absorb rainwater, reducing the impact of flooding," added Dani.

This activity was attended by the Operational Director of PT Deltamas and representatives of tenants in the GIIC Deltamas area. (Diskominfo, Bekasi/Revo Regency)
