PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - Acting Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan said that the Regent's Regulation (Perbup) concerning Guidelines for Providing Scholarships for Poor Students with Achievements at Elementary and Middle School levels of education has been officially signed.
The scholarship is provided in order to provide equal opportunities to obtain the right to access education for all children in Bekasi Regency.
He emphasized that this Education Scholarship Regulation could be a solution for poor, high-achieving children who are struggling economically.
"Yes, yesterday I signed a Regional Regulation regarding scholarship assistance for poor elementary and middle school children," he said after inaugurating repairs to the Cipamingkis Bridge, Bekasi Regency, Friday (17/5/2024).
According to him, providing scholarships is also a solution to breaking the chain of poverty. This can be interpreted as saying that scholarships are the regional government's efforts to increase superior human resources which ultimately contribute to reducing poverty rates, brightening the nation's future, and guaranteeing equal rights in obtaining education.
The presence of this Regional Regulation, continued Dani, is expected to prevent underprivileged communities from always focusing on the Opening of New Students (PPDB) for State Schools. Because the local government is here to provide educational guarantees through educational scholarships.
“But we still protect the poor. So even though they are in a private school, we help with their education costs so they can continue their education. "In this Perbup, we allocate the budget, essentially the target is poor students with achievements," he said.
Dani emphasized that basically this Perbup regulates the provision of educational assistance or scholarships to poor students with special achievements at the elementary and middle school education levels. However, regional governments have also previously allocated budgets for the next level of education.
“But actually there is also an allocation for high school to university education levels. "For universities, it's at Disbudpora," he said.
