Acting Bogor Regent: Open High School Creative Expo as a Form of Commitment to Freedom to Learn in the Real World of Education

PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - Acting Bogor Regent Asmawa Tosepu attended the Creativity Expo for Open High School students at the Bogor Regency Regional I Education Office Branch at the Tegar Beriman Building, Cibinong, Tuesday (16/1/2024). Asmawa Tosepu appreciated the creativity and innovation carried out by open high school students and girls, as a real manifestation of "Freedom to Learn" in the world of education in Bogor Regency.

Acting The Regent of Bogor, Asmawa Tosepu, said that the Open High School Student Creativity Expo was a commitment of students and teaching staff to show the quality of learning in the world of education at the Bogor Regency Open High School.

"On behalf of the Bogor Regency Government, we really appreciate and thank the ranks of the West Java Provincial Government for holding the Open High School in Bogor Regency as a real manifestation of Freedom of Learning in the world of education," he said.

Acting The Regent of Bogor said that the spirit of independent learning is not just about the freedom to choose learning materials, but the freedom to access available educational channels that transcend geographical, social and economic boundaries.

"Today we gather together to express appreciation to celebrate the success of the persistence, creativity and innovation of Open High School students, as well as show the world that the quality of Open High School learning is no less than regular or conventional schools," he said.

According to him, the world of education is so dynamic that creativity and diversity are a rich path to success. There is not just one but many alternative paths that we take.

"We, the Bogor Regency Government, are very proud to see Open High School students who have shown dedication and a spirit of innovation. "Today's creativity expo proves that graduating Open High School students have sufficient intellectual capacity and skills to be able to compete in higher education, both at home and abroad," he said.

Asmawa Tosepu also shared experiences regarding special tips for Open High School students to become successful individuals.

“There are three key things that can be done to success, namely, first, you must have knowledge, which is an absolute must. Second, this skill is the precursor to success. Third, have a heart, work with your heart. "I am sure that students have the opportunity to become successful people in Bogor Regency," he added.

Head of the West Java Provincial Education Service, Wahyu Wijaya, said that through the Creativity Expo he wanted to show that the quality of Open High School education was of equal quality and as good as other formal schools.

"Hopefully this activity can become a forum for honing and exploring creativity as a provision for a better future, as well as a provision to be able to compete with others, as a gateway to success," he said. (rdp*)
