PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting Regent of Garut Barnas Adjidin attended the Ba'da Idulfitri 1445 Hijriah Gathering event which took place at the Garut Regency Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Office, Monday (13/5/2024).

Barnas appreciated the activities organized by the Garut Regency MUI today. He hopes that this activity can be held on an ongoing basis so that this meeting can be used as an event to see and discuss various things that are happening in Garut Regency.

"And of course our strength is an extraordinary force, which if united, no one can defeat something like that," he said.

He also said that previously Muslims, especially in Garut Regency, had carried out Ramadan worship and Eid prayers together. At this moment, he apologized to all those present and invited them to continue carrying out their worship after the month of Ramadan ended.

"Therefore, on behalf of the Garut Regency Government, we apologize physically and mentally, minal aidzin walfaidzin, hopefully our Ramadan worship, our best worship, will carry out the shariah in the following month," he said.

Barnas also wished the people of Garut who performed the Hajj a happy pilgrimage this year.

"Hopefully it will go smoothly and hopefully there will be convenience, health, and a mabrur pilgrimage and return to their homeland healthy and safe," he said.

General Secretary of the Garut Regency MUI, Muhamad Yusuf Safari, said that the theme of today's event was "Restrengthening the Post-Election National Brotherhood and Welcoming the Regional Elections in Garut Regency in 2024", where previously all Indonesian citizens had held simultaneous elections last February.

"Because now the president and vice president have been elected, then the members of the DPRD, DPD and DPR have been elected, so we have to unite again like that. "That's why we took a theme like this, but added it to the upcoming regional elections in Garut Regency," he said. (Diskominfo Garut/UPI)
