
PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting. The Regent of Garut, Barnas Adjidin, expressed his concern over the accident involving the drowning of a child with the initials R (5), in Saripulo Village, Padaasih Village, Pasirwangi District, Garut Regency, on Thursday (11/4/2024),
He hopes and prays that the victims can be found soon, and that the families affected by the disaster will be given courage. He also advised the Joint SAR team to always be careful and maintain unity during the search.
In the last few days, rain has fallen again in Garut Regency, so the river water level is quite high.
"If you look at the water discharge from yesterday's rain which was quite large, it means that there are many possibilities at the point of being washed away from the starting point to the downstream point, the first possibility is that it continues to be washed away, then later it sinks and gets stuck in the river, or in the bushes on the river bank, because "Just comb it until the specified time limit," said Barnas when giving in-depth directions to the Joint SAR team (14/4/2024), in Jager Village, Sukaratu Village, Banyuresmi District, Garut Regency. Barnas also expressed his gratitude to the Joint SAR team who had given their time and energy to search for victims.
Not only providing moral support, Acting. The Regent of Garut also provided direct assistance to the Joint SAR team, donating additional logistics and IDR 10 million in cash from his personal pocket, in the hope of lightening the burden and facilitating the smooth running of the search operation.
"And I also appeal to other friends to be able to participate (help) at least pray, and I also don't want there to be a shortage of ammunition, for example food and so on," he explained.
Based on information from the Head of Pasirwangi Subdistrict, Bambang Rudijanto, the search for the victims of the drifting had been carried out since the first day his party received a report from the victim's family. This search was divided into two routes with a total of five search teams involving around 85 people.
The first route covers the area from Saripulo Village to Patrol Village, while the second route covers from Copong Dam to Jager Village. These search teams are scattered along the route in the hope of finding victims or traces of them.
As reported, the victim, who was allegedly playing with his friends, was planning to get water from a ditch at the scene of the incident.
