PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting Regent of Garut Barnas Adjidin explored and enjoyed the charm of the Saung Ciburial Tourism Village, Garut Regency, Sunday (4/2/2024).
During his visit, Barnas called the Saung Ciburial Tourism Village an extraordinary place that presents the natural beauty of Garut Regency. He was impressed by its regional feel and praised its culinary delights.
During his visit, Barnas revealed that Garut Regency is extraordinary in having a very beautiful place, namely the Saung Ciburial Tourism Village. According to him, this tourist village presents the real atmosphere of Garut Regency.
"From the place, which is not far from the city, you can feel the regional feel. Then we were treated to all kinds, starting from the culinary delights, the food, wow, I didn't expect it to be so delicious," he said.
Barnas assesses that the potential of the Saung Ciburial Tourism Village is very good, it just remains to be promoted more intensively to attract the attention of tourists. According to him, this village has a special attraction for those who want to spend time there.
"Because if you stay here overnight it will definitely have its own beauty for the people who live here. I would say that if there were no guests waiting, I would definitely linger here longer," he said.
Sukalaksana Village Head Oban Sobana explained that the concept of Saung Ciburial Tourism Village is to display a typical village atmosphere. With 85% of its area as an agricultural area, this village produces 40 tons of mustard greens per day.
"So that every day there are people who harvest, there are those who plant, there are also those who harvest, and they also serve them to visitors, that's one of them," he said.
One of the typical offerings of Saung Ciburial Tourism Village is the Garut sheep show. Tourists will also be shown how to raise sheep and the agility of Garut sheep.
Apart from the Garut sheep show, this village displays the local wisdom and culture of Garut. Visitors can learn pencak silat moves, watch pencak silat performances, and take part in traditional games such as Kabarulem.
"We also show children that they don't only know how to play games or play gadgets on their cellphones, but they have to know what children were like in the past," he said.
Oban said that the Saung Ciburial Tourism Village provides 23 tour packages, including the fish ngagogo package which is popular with many visitors. However, to visit, visitors must book in advance.
"What date will we be ready, that's new (we can visit), on average we have 6 group visitors per month, right, but on average for one year we are over a thousand, 1500-2000," he said.
This tourist village is managed by a Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDES), which not only manages the tourist village but also manages clean water and rest areas. Original Village Income (PADes) from tourist villages is one of the boosters.
"Before COVID-19, from BUMDes we got more than 1 billion, at least 700 (million), but after COVID-19 our standard is 400-500 million per year," he said.
Oban appreciated the visit of the Acting Regent of Garut, hoping that this visit would bring blessings and become a form of concern for the villages in Garut Regency.
"With this visit, it is hoped that the Regent, if there is Bimtek, there will be visits, it will be more to villages in Garut Regency," he said. (Diskominfo Garut/UPI)
