PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Acting (Pj) Regent of Garut, Barnas Adjidin inaugurated and took the oath of Members of the Garut Regency Education Council for the 2025-2030 Period in a ceremony held in the Pamengkang Room, Pendopo Garut, Tuesday (2/18/2025). The event was also attended by the Regional Secretary of Garut Regency, Nurdin Yana, and other invited guests.

In his speech, Barnas Adjidin emphasized the importance of the role of the Education Council in conducting strategic studies to improve the quality of learning in Garut Regency. He emphasized that education is the right and obligation of every individual and is a fundamental aspect that every human being needs to go through.

"Therefore, all Garut people are legally required to provide education," he said. The measure of a country's progress, he added, is very dependent on its level of education,

Barnas also revealed that the vast area of Garut Regency and its large population pose their own challenges in equalizing education. Issues such as the distribution of educators and access to educational programs are still the main concerns of the local government. He called it a challenge for the world of education, especially in Garut Regency.

As a solution, Barnas emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Education Council and universities to conduct academic studies related to education policies. He also highlighted the need for continuous dissemination of education information to the public.

"Education is the basic capital of all life, with education we will behave well and have good morals so that we will be safe in this world and the hereafter," he added.

Barnas hopes that the Education Council can assist the government in making populist policies and be able to increase the driving force of education.

"Therefore, the Education Council was born, which will later provide input on policies," he said.

In addition to being a strategic partner of the government in formulating policies that are oriented towards educational progress, the Education Council is also expected to play a role in monitoring and evaluating ongoing educational programs.

"The Education Council and the Education Office are like two sides of a coin that cannot be separated. Both must collaborate to support better education programs in Garut," he stressed.

He also invited all stakeholders to think positively and work together to solve various challenges in the world of education.

"Hopefully in the next five years, the Education Council will be able to provide real contributions so that Garut becomes a district that is educated, insightful, responsible, and makes all its people proud," said Barnas.

On that occasion, Barnas Adjidin expressed his appreciation to the chairman and the entire selection team for the election of the management of the Education Council in Garut Regency.
