PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting Regent of Garut Barnas Adjidin together with the Head of the Garut Regency Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP-PKK) Sri Kartika, received a mock study visit from the Surakarta City TP-PKK at the Pendopo Building, Garut Regency, Wednesday (31/7/2024).

In his speech, Barnas welcomed the Surakarta City TP-PKK group. He hopes that guests will feel happy during their visit and can see the diversity that Garut Regency has.

Garut has the largest leather center with leather production locations that offer various prices. Barnas also introduced typical Garut food which is famous for being delicious.

"Don't ask, there are two types of food in Garut, delicious and very delicious. So here I eat nothing that's not delicious, so if it's not delicious, it's very tasty, that's more or less," he said.

Barnas also introduced the potential for the best fighting sheep in Indonesia which is owned by Garut Regency.

"Garut sheep are famous apart from their skin, but also as the best fighting sheep in Indonesia," he said.

Chairman of the TP-PKK Garut Regency, Sri Kartika, said that his party was continuing the existing work program in implementing 10 PKK Programs, one of which was improving the spirit and character of volunteers through close kinship among PKK administrators.

"We also distribute tasks to each TP PKK administrator through the regional development team and competition development team continuously, evaluating the results of regional development and competition development, and solving existing problems," he said.

Ika -- Sri Kartika's nickname -- said that Garut Regency has achieved many achievements, including Rancasalak Village which recently won 1st place in the Village Competition at the West Java Province level.

"There are 240 MSMEs under the guidance of the Kampung Mandiri PKK, with micro businesses increasing by 53% compared to 2022, and 1636 UP2K groups," he said.

Chairman of the TP-PKK for Surakarta City, Mukilah Budi Martono, said that the purpose of this visit was to establish friendship and brotherhood with Garut Regency and exchange insights regarding the management and marketing of MSMEs.

"Also, the most interesting thing is the tourism. The Acting Regent explained earlier that the potential is extraordinary in the city of Garut, the tourism potential and achievements are no less," he said.

After being officially received, the Surakarta City TP-PKK group then visited several shopping centers including Chocodot World and Astiga Leather.
