PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Acting Regent of Garut, Barnas Adjidin, handed over central government reserve rice assistance to Gandamekar Village, Kadungora District, Garut Regency, on Wednesday (31/1/2024).
Rice assistance of 10 kg per family was distributed through the National Food Agency (Bapanas) through Perum Bulog and PT Pos. The Head of the Garut Regency Social Service, Aji Sukarmaji, said that the total recipients of aid in Garut Regency reached 296,885 Beneficiary Families (KPM), one of which was Kadungora District receiving 8,464 KPM and Gandamekar Village 461 KPM.
"10kg for one KPM, that's for one month. This program runs until June. So per month, the quality is medium," he said.
He hopes that this assistance can help meet people's food needs, where currently the price of rice is considered not cheap. The KPM data, added Aji, comes from data for the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (P3KE).
"So many people are now only receiving this rice because they are in Decile 1 and are in Decile 2," he said.
Aji Sukarmaji added that this assistance was provided by the National Food Agency (Bapanas), where the rice was procured through Perum Bulog, and distributed through PT Pos.
"From regional government officials to one team from the DKP Food Security Service, Social Services, and from BAPPEDA. So we are monitoring together," he said.
The Acting Regent reminded the public not to sell the rice aid that had been given, but to make good use of the rice to meet family needs.
Barnas stated that he wanted there to be an even distribution of aid recipients and that aid could be distributed to the right targets. Apart from that, so that the implementation of providing assistance can take place quickly.
"Hopefully Garut will be prosperous, Garut will have something that will please the people with its public services," he said.
Previously, Acting. The Regent of Garut visited the Leles District Office and the Kadungora District Office. Barnas explained that his visit was in order to see firsthand the services provided by sub-district officials to the community.
Barnas hopes that this excellent service will increase comfort and safety in the community, including the importance of cleanliness in government offices.
"Likewise in schools and we also want offices to be eco green," he said.
Kadungora Subdistrict Head, Asep Suhendar, announced the arrival of Acting. It is an honor for the Regent of Garut, he hopes that this visit will be a motivation for sub-district officials to improve their performance. (rdp*)
