PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting Regent of Garut Barnas Adjidin directly inspected survivors of the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred some time ago, in Pangatikan District, Garut Regency, Tuesday (30/4/2024).

This earthquake caused a lot of damage to houses, one of which damaged a house in Pangatikan District.

"Well, this is indeed damaged like this, it has entered into serious damage, because I saw that from the top to the foundation it was collapsing, so coincidentally we had several donors come, and we are trying to fix it first, before we can get other help. "helps too, therefore I would like to thank those who provide assistance, and of course we must trust the assistance, so there should be no things that will tarnish the assistance," said Barnas on the sidelines of his visit.

Barnas revealed that currently the Garut Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab) has finalized data on the impact of the earthquake, and the final data will be discussed to be followed up with policies and recovery that will be carried out.

"Hopefully in the next week there will be corrective steps, because I don't want to linger in obscurity, linger in situations that are not dangerous either, for example cracks in the house, fear of it collapsing and so on," he said.

During this review, Barnas handed over stimulant assistance to affected residents at the scene. He also expressed his condolences to the survivors whose homes were affected.

"Then you have to be strong in facing the trials that befall you, hopefully in the future you will be alert again, if you build a house you have to be strong like that, because I saw that the damage was because the structure was not good, so every construction must also be looked at by the authorities, okay? in the village, so that if there is an earthquake there are no casualties," he said.
