PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - Acting Chair of the West Java Province Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK) Amanda Soemedi Bey Machmudin appreciated the TP-PKK Bogor Regency because the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) was carried out well in Bogor Regency. After being held the previous day in Sukajaya and Cigudeg Districts, today, Thursday (4/7/2024), the GPM was held in Sukamakmur and Tanjungsari Districts.

Amanda explained that today her party was present to organize the Cheap Food Movement for the people of Bogor Regency. This July, the provinces of Banten and West Java were chosen by the central TP-PKK to carry out GPM activities, in West Java the party has appointed three cities and districts. These include Bekasi City, Purwakarta Regency, and Bogor Regency.

"Thank God, Bogor Regency can implement GPM in four locations, namely in Sukajaya, Cigudeg, Sukamakmur and Tanjungsari Districts. "So I really appreciate the TP-PKK Bogor Regency for carrying out this activity well," he said.

Amanda added that the commitment of the Bogor Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab) to realize GPM activities, providing commodities, rice, eggs, cooking oil, meat and vegetables at prices that are affordable for the GPM community, strengthens the message that food is a human right whose availability is for everyone.

"I send a message to all TP-PKK administrators and members in the field, maintain the enthusiasm to continue to educate, provide counseling and guidance to every family so that they can use their yard land to plant vegetables or other productive plants," he said.

He continued, apart from having economic value, it will also reduce the burden on consumers and mitigate the impact of food inflation, so that we do not always depend on food availability from the government. Apart from that, let's continue to campaign enthusiastically for the 3B Movement, namely, diversity, nutrition and balance as an effort to improve family nutrition in order to reduce stunting rates in children, especially in West Java Province. So that a healthy and intelligent generation can be realized.

"The government cannot work alone, TP-PKK, which is a strategic partner of the government and an organization that builds society starting from the smallest environment, namely the family, is considered capable of making a big contribution to building food security in society," he said.

Acting Chair of the Bogor Regency TP-PKK, Siti Chomzah Asmawa, explained that her party had completed a series of GPM activities in Bogor Regency. This activity is the result of collaboration between the Central TP-PKK, West Java Province TP-PKK, and Bogor Regency TP-PKK, in order to maintain the stability of food commodities and also to reduce the rate of inflation.

"GPM consists of selling cooking oil cheaper than the market, then there are also basic necessities including rice, meat, eggs, vegetables and other basic necessities," he said.

Siti appreciated the presence of the Acting Chair of the TP-PKK for West Java Province. Bogor Regency is one of the districts/cities appointed by the Chair of the Central TP-PKK for implementing GPM. In the following months, the plan is to implement GPM again, which will serve basic commodities at low prices in different locations.

Head of the Bogor Regency Food Security Service (DKP) Asep Mulyana said that of course his party supports this GPM activity, by participating for two days, by providing two packages. The first package is for Sukajaya and Cigudeg Districts, the second is for Sukamakmur and Tanjungsari Districts.

"Each package contains 11 basic necessities. The hope is that with GPM, people can buy basic necessities at low prices, thereby helping their economy," he said.

For your information, GPM can be implemented well for two days in Bogor Regency, thereby helping the community's economy.

During its run, GPM received enthusiasm from the public to buy basic necessities at low prices. There are four sub-districts in Bogor Regency designated as GPM locations, namely Sukajaya District, Cigudeg District, Sukamakmur District, and Tanjungsari District.

Also present were the Central TP-PKK Working Group 2 and West Java Province TP-PKK Working Group 2, the Bogor Regency TP-PKK management, the Bogor Regency Food Security Service, the sub-district head along with the Chair of the Sukamakmur and Tanjungsari District TP-PKK, the village heads and the Chair of the TP- Village PKK in Sukamakmur and Tanjungsari Districts.
