
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is committed to always looking at the gender perspective in every policy and program made. It is possible that programs and policies consider gender, not just gender differences but also raise women's rights and access to public services.
This was stated by the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono at Bandung City Hall, Wednesday (15/11/2023).
According to him, various efforts have been made by the Bandung City Government to implement Gender Mainstreaming (PUG).
Bambang revealed that the Gender Empowerment Index (IPG) in 2020 was 70.49 points, then increased to 72.36 points in 2022.
"Meanwhile, the Gender Development Index (IPG), in 2022 the Bandung City IPG value was 94.81 points, better than the previous two years. "In 2020 it was 94.68 and in 94.72 points," he said.
Currently, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia is carrying out field verification in Bandung City in the implementation of Gender Mainstreaming.
Bambang revealed that there are 7 points in implementing PUG by designing a grand design to make this a success.
"The grand design of implementing Gender Mainstreaming in Bandung City includes commitment, policies, institutions, resources, analytical tools, disaggregated data and community practitioners," he said.
Furthermore, Bambang explained that the implementation of the PUG in Bandung City included a recess for DPRD members, coordination meetings of the PUG Working Group, Musrenbang and technical guidance.
As for the gender responsive activity program innovations, namely, Kang Pisman (Reduce, Separate and Utilize), PIPPK (Regional Development and Empowerment Innovation Program), Salaman (Done in the Hand), Arimbi (Real Time Information Sharing Application) there is also e - Important (Electronic Stunting data collection)," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Service, Uum Sumiati, revealed that the program priority in matters of women's empowerment is the establishment of a Puspel PP or Center for Women's Services and Empowerment.
"The PP cell that is the role model is the Cigending sub-district in Ujungberung sub-district. "Puspel PP Cigending consistently carries out various positive activities for women's empowerment, including counseling and prevention of domestic violence, both for adult women and children," he said.
"Furthermore, Uum said, Puspel PP is actively developing PKK female dasawisma so that they better understand their rights as women and how they should take on roles both in the family and social environment," he said.
Uum said that the Bandung City Government also has a PIPPK program (Regional Development Innovation and Empowerment Program), one of which also focuses on strengthening women.
"PIPPK has been running in 151 sub-districts in 30 sub-districts," he said.
On the same occasion, Chairman of the Bandung City District Head Association, Suardi, revealed that the region was committed to implementing the PUG.
"In the field every year starting from Musrenbang, the regions communicate directly with the community regarding PIPPK. "We feel PIPPK is a policy rolled out by the government to equalize development in the region," he said.
Responding to this, Gender Expert as Coordinator of the PUG Evaluation Team of the Ministry of PPPA of the Republic of Indonesia, Yusuf Supiadi, said that the data verification implementation would be explored by the team to gather information.
"We appreciate the Bandung City Government, that the collaboration of each OPD (Regional Apparatus Organization) is very simultaneous in every region," he said.
He also appreciated one of the Bandung City Government programs, namely Puspel PP, which is the only one in Indonesia.
"This is a good innovation, that every region should provide innovation for gender mainstreaming," he said. (rdp*)
