PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan appreciated the success of the Bandung City Regional National Crafts Council in winning three awards at the 2026 West Java Crafts Week through textile works and digital promotions that highlighted Patrakomala Batik (26/6/2026).

This achievement strengthens the promotion of creative products while opening up greater opportunities for artisans, designers, and micro, small, and medium enterprises in Bandung City.

Bandung City won the Best First Place in the Regional Fashion Show Award, the Most Favorite Category in the Regional Fashion Show Award, and the Most Creative Category in the Best Regional Digital Promotion Award from the West Java Regional National Craft Council 2026.

This achievement also means they have retained their first place title in the Regional Fashion Show for two consecutive years.

Muhammad Farhan said the award was proof that Bandung City's creative work is of high quality and competitiveness.

"This achievement is a source of pride for all Bandung residents. This award demonstrates the high quality and competitiveness of creative works produced in Bandung. We want local culture and creativity to not only serve as an identity but also as an economic force capable of further enhancing Bandung's reputation nationally and internationally," he said.

The performance with the theme Selayang Pandang: Mosaic of Bandung City's Diversity highlights Patrakomala Batik as a cultural identity through various fashion designs.

The digital promotion award was also won through a video created by the Bandung City Communications and Information Service team that introduced Patrakomala Batik in various creative products.

Farhan hopes that this achievement will encourage the Bandung City Government and the Regional National Crafts Council to continue supporting innovation among craftsmen, designers, and micro, small, and medium enterprises.

"Bandung will continue to be a home for creativity. This achievement is not the end, but rather a renewed spirit to continue producing works rooted in culture yet able to respond to changing times," he said.
