PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - Acting Chair of the West Java Province TP PKK Amanda Soemedi accompanied the General Chair of the Central TP PKK Tri Tito Karnavian at the Bekasi City Level Cheap Market Movement and Posyandu Competition, at the Bekasi City Government Office Patriot Hall, Monday ( 6/11/2023 ).
The purpose of the Central TP PKK working visit is anti-drug and reproductive health outreach to high school and vocational school students in Bekasi City.
Tri welcomed this socialization activity. According to him, anti-drug outreach is very important to continue to promote considering that drug abuse by young people is still high.
According to him, drug abuse has become a national disaster. "Drug use does not only cover the younger generation, but also the older generation," said Tri.
"More concerned also includes the younger generation, namely children at junior and even elementary school levels," he added.
Tri also emphasized the importance of socialization regarding reproductive health and sex education.
He said that education about reproductive organs was still minimal because it was considered vulgar. In fact, sex education is very necessary so that children, especially teenagers who are entering puberty, do not find out from random sources.
“ Sex education is not related to porn, but provides an explanation of the differences between male and female reproductive organs. "What will happen, why does it happen, and what should be done to overcome it, such as menstruation and wet dreams," explained Tri.
Likewise, Amanda Soemedi said that socialization and education could be a provision for students to be more aware of information about anti-drugs and reproductive health.
With early education, it is hoped that students will be motivated to build healthy, responsive and resilient families in the future.
Amanda also appealed to parents to start opening communication with their children, especially teenagers, regarding the dangers of drugs and reproductive health.
Sex education should not be considered taboo for children to communicate with their parents. It is better to be communicated than for children to look for their own answers outside of the wrong person.
"I hope that parents can be more open to their children about the dangers of drugs and sexual education ," said Amanda.
"Parents must be the first to provide understanding to children regarding these matters," he concluded.
