PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, confirmed that the three points of the collapsed road on Jalan Cikarang Bekasi Laut (CBL) which had gone viral on social media would be repaired immediately.

This was conveyed by Asep after directly inspecting the location of the damage in front of the Islamic Toyibah Housing Complex, in front of the Tirta Alam Housing Complex, Kertamukti Village, and near the Buwek Baru Bridge, Muktiwari Village, Cibitung District, Tuesday (21/4/2026).

Asep explained that the road damage in several locations was a result of the previous flooding in the area. He explained that the ground beneath the road had subsided due to erosion by the water flow.

"This road is on an embankment, but there's no retaining wall. Due to yesterday's flood, the ground beneath it eroded, causing a landslide and the road to sink," he explained.

To address this issue, the Bekasi Regency Government will construct retaining walls (TPT) as the primary solution. He confirmed that the budget for repairing the damage has been allocated and is currently in the implementation phase.

"The budget is already in place, and the team of experts is already in place. It just needs to be implemented, God willing, as soon as possible," he said.

He added that TPT construction will be prioritized in areas deemed most vulnerable. The local government will also conduct a comprehensive evaluation to anticipate the potential for similar incidents in other locations.

"We're mapping out what's already happened and what's potentially happening. We'll immediately build retaining walls for those at risk. Gradually, we aim to address all of these issues within the next five years," he said.

In addition to building retaining walls, repairs will also be carried out on the affected road surface.

"Once the retaining wall is built, we'll automatically repair the road as well. It's impossible to just repair the wall," he stressed.

Regarding the implementation time, Asep targets physical work to begin in the near future.

"God willing, we can start work within this month, as the budget is already available," he concluded.
