PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Acting Regent of Bekasi, Dr. Asep Surya Atmaja, officially inaugurated and took the oath or promise of 1,564 members of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) throughout Bekasi Regency for the 2026–2034 membership period at the Swatantra Wibawamukti Building, Bekasi Regency Government Plaza Complex, Wednesday (22/7/2026).
In his remarks, Dr. Asep Surya Atmaja congratulated all BPD members who had been officially inaugurated. He expressed his hope that they would carry out the mandate entrusted to them by the community with full responsibility, integrity, and a spirit of dedication to achieve a more advanced village and a more prosperous community.
"On behalf of the Bekasi Regency Government, I congratulate the 1,564 members of the Village Consultative Body throughout Bekasi Regency who were officially inaugurated and sworn in today. I hope you will carry out the mandate given to you by the community with full responsibility, integrity, and a spirit of dedication to realize increasingly advanced villages and increasingly prosperous communities," said Asep.
He emphasized that the inauguration was not merely a ceremony, but rather the beginning of a major responsibility for BPD members to oversee democracy at the village level, absorb and channel community aspirations, and simultaneously oversee the running of village government objectively and responsibly.
According to him, the public places high expectations on BPD members. Therefore, all members are asked to prioritize the public interest over personal or group interests in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
Asep also emphasized that the BPD is a strategic partner for the village government in realizing good governance. Therefore, he hopes that all BPD members will carry out their duties professionally, uphold integrity, and build harmonious communication and synergy with the village head, village officials, community organizations, and all elements of society.
"Differences of opinion in the democratic process are natural. However, once all stages are complete, it's time for us to unite, work together, and build the village. Let deliberation be the way to resolve every problem and prioritize the interests of the community in every decision we make," he stressed.
On that occasion, the Acting Regent of Bekasi also expressed his appreciation to the village government, the BPD filling committee, the sub-district government, the Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMD), the ranks of the TNI-Polri, and all parties who have supported the process of filling BPD members so that it runs in an orderly, safe, smooth, and conducive manner.
He emphasized the Bekasi Regency Government's continued commitment to fostering advanced, independent, and prosperous villages. He believes successful village development requires collaboration across all sectors, including the Village Consultative Body (BPD), which serves as a forum for community aspirations, strengthening the spirit of mutual cooperation and contributing to solutions in every village development process.
Asep invited all newly appointed BPD members to carry out their mandate as best as possible, work honestly, fairly, and with dedication, and act as a liaison between community aspirations and village government policies.
"I am confident that with strong commitment, integrity, and collaboration, we can create increasingly developed villages as a foundation for a resurgent, advanced, and prosperous Bekasi Regency," he concluded.
