PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, encouraged companies operating in Bekasi Regency to optimize the distribution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs for the community and regional development. This step was strengthened through the 2026 Bekasi Regency CSR Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang) by carrying out the CSR Collaboration Movement through Optimal Synergy Across Agencies and the Business World (Solid CSR Movement), themed Improving Competitive Human Resources and Equitable Infrastructure.
"Essentially, we're asking companies in Bekasi Regency to return their CSR contributions to the community. We have around 9,200 companies and 11 industrial areas. This potential needs to be synergized to make its contribution more tangible to regional development," Asep said during an event in the KH Makmun Nawawi Meeting Room on Wednesday (10/14/2026).
Asep explained that strengthening CSR collaboration is one of the regional government's efforts to accelerate development amidst budgetary constraints. Through synergy with the business sector, development needs not yet accommodated in the Regional Budget (APBD) are expected to receive additional support.
"We want this CSR program to support regional development, particularly infrastructure and improving the quality of human resources. Therefore, I invite all companies to work together to develop Bekasi Regency through targeted collaboration," he said.
According to Asep, infrastructure development is a priority that requires joint support, given that roads and public facilities in Bekasi Regency are also used by industrial activities and worker mobility. Therefore, corporate involvement is expected to help accelerate equitable development, extending to residential areas and villages.
"Our roads are also used by employees, operational vehicles, and company buses. When a road is damaged, the local government strives to repair it. Therefore, we hope that companies operating in Bekasi Regency will contribute through CSR to support these development needs," he said.
In addition to infrastructure, Asep highlighted the issue of unemployment, which remains a challenge to regional development. According to data presented at the forum, the unemployment rate in Bekasi Regency stands at 8.68 percent. This situation requires synergy between the government and the business sector, including strengthening the workforce's competency to ensure competitiveness in the job market.
"We want companies and local governments to work together to improve the quality of human resources and help address unemployment. With effective collaboration, development will not only result in better infrastructure but also provide economic benefits and opportunities for the community," he stressed.
Asep also encouraged companies to implement CSR programs not in isolation but rather to align them with regional development needs and priorities. Through planned coordination, corporate support is expected to be more targeted, avoid overlapping programs, and reach areas still in need of development.
"If we coordinate and integrate these CSR programs into a single plan, we can identify any unaddressed needs. For example, if a village road hasn't been addressed in the development planning meeting (musrenbang), we can communicate this with the company so that implementation is more focused and the community benefits," he explained.
On the occasion, Asep expressed his appreciation to the industrial estate managers and companies that have contributed through various CSR programs, including support for educational facilities and community needs. Moving forward, the local government aims to strengthen communication to ensure these contributions are more aligned with Bekasi Regency's development agenda.
"We would like to thank the companies and industrial estate managers who have contributed to regional development. Moving forward, we hope this collaboration will be even stronger and more planned, so that CSR truly supports Bekasi Regency's development priorities," he said.
As a follow-up, the Bekasi Regency Government plans to conduct roadshows to several industrial areas with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and relevant regional agencies. These activities will provide a dialogue space to discuss collaboration opportunities, development needs, and a more coordinated CSR distribution mechanism.
"I hope the Solid CSR Movement can become a platform for sustainable collaboration between the local government and the business world to support equitable development, strengthen human resource competitiveness, and improve the welfare of the Bekasi Regency community," he explained.
