PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The prestigious running event Pocari Sweat Run Indonesia 2025 was officially launched through a press conference held at the West Hall of Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Wednesday (1/22/2025). The launching event was attended by the Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin, the elected Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan, and the Marketing Director of PT Amerta Indah Otsuka, Puspita Winawati.
In his speech, Bey Machmudin gave high appreciation for this year's event which was considered more mature and innovative than before.
"Last year there was a lot of criticism, but I am sure this time it will be much better. With very intensive and detailed preparation, this event can be an example for other running events (in Indonesia)," said Bey.
One of the innovations proposed is the implementation of the half marathon which starts earlier to ensure that participants can finish the race before the city of Bandung is crowded with tourists.
"Starting earlier and finishing earlier is the right step. I am optimistic that Pocari Sweat Run 2025 will be the best running event in Indonesia," he said.
In addition to the competition, Bey highlighted the added value of this event which not only focuses on sports but also entertainment for the community.
"In addition to the running race, there will be a carnival and art performances along the way. It's like reviving childhood nostalgia, hopefully it will happen," said Bey.
More than 45,000 Participants from all over Indonesia
Marketing Director of PT Amerta Indah Otsuka, Puspita Winawati, revealed that the 2025 Pocari Sweat Run will take place for two days, on July 19-20, 2025, with the center point of the event at Bandung City Hall.

"In addition, we are still opening virtual run slots for up to 30,000 participants, so that a total of more than 45,000 people from all over Indonesia can participate," said Puspita.
To ensure participant comfort, the committee limits the number of runners to a maximum of 10,000 people per day, ensuring the smooth running of the event.
