BANDA ACEH CITY – Weightlifter Imam Jamaludin won a gold medal for West Java at the XXI/2024 Aceh - North Sumatra Sports Week (PON).

Imam recorded a total lift of 338 kilograms with a breakdown of 148 kilograms in the snatch and 190 kilograms in the clean and jerk. This achievement was a special victory because it coincided with his son's birthday.

When met after the match, Imam Jamaludin expressed his gratitude and pride for his achievements.

"Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to be able to win another gold medal. This is a special gift for my son on his birthday. The hard training after the ACL injury and surgery was not in vain. I can prove myself and fight again in PON," said Imam Jamaludin.

Acting Governor Bey Machmudin, who witnessed the match live, expressed his appreciation for Imam's success.

"Thank you to Imam Jamaludin who has given the gold medal to West Java. Good training and careful calculation were clearly visible in his performance. This is an example for other athletes to prepare themselves well," said Bey.

Bey is optimistic that West Java will achieve a hat-trick of overall championships.

Imam Jamaludin's achievements not only bring pride to West Java, but also inspire other athletes to continue training and fighting to achieve the best results at PON.
