PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Communication and Solutions Forum (FOKUS) talk show was held again, Wednesday (5/6/2034).

In this 43rd volume of FOKUS, the Coordinator of Education Supervisor for West Java Province Education KCD Region

Nanang revealed that PPDB 2024 for SMA, SMK and SLB levels has started in West Java.

The first stage of registration and verification of PPDB documents will take place from 3-7 June 2024, specifically for the zoning category and Economically Disadvantaged Families (KETM). The second stage of registration will be open on 24-28 June 2024.

"Stage 1 for SMA uses zoning and KETM with a quota of 65 percent, while for SMK, closest priority and KETM get a quota of 25 percent. The remaining quota will be filled in the second stage," said Nanang.

There are two registration options for PPDB 2024, online via the ppdb.jabarprov.go.id website and the Sapawarga Application, or offline by coming directly to the target school.

"If, for example, your sons and daughters have problems with internet access or sometimes it's difficult to use it, you can just come to the school you are visiting, God willing, the school you are going to will prepare and facilitate your sons and daughters to be able to access PPDB 2024," he explained.

Nanang also explained about the student quota proposed by each school, where for SMA there is usually a maximum of 12 study groups (rombel) and for SMK it can reach 24 groups.

"For SMA, the maximum is 12 groups with a total of less than 432 students, while for Vocational Schools it can reach 24 groups because there are various skill competencies or majors," he added.

Regarding public complaints regarding donations to education funds, Nanang stated that this was permitted and regulated in Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 75 of 2016 concerning School Committees.

He said that donations are allowed provided they have been formulated, planned and approved by the committee, while levies that are determined by the amount and time are not allowed.

"The only thing that is not allowed is levies. What are the indicators of levies? First determine the amount, determine the time, what about donations? Maybe it's outside that context," said Nanang.

Nanang hopes that the 2024 PPDB can run smoothly and emphasizes that the quality of education is evenly distributed in various schools.

"This is proven that the proportion of high school students entering the world of higher education is relatively evenly distributed now, not dominated by just certain schools, it can be seen in the data, including vocational schools, vocational schools in the regions are also quite good now," he said.
